Visualizing My Happy Place

This page started as a visualization my happy place.

I saw my dad  reaching out to me.  He handed me a stick.

That stick felt like a life line to me that day.  Like life, it was smooth but also bumpy.
It represented change but also perseverance.

We were at one of our favourite prairie fishing holes.  Cows were munching grass in the background.

Pelicans entertained us by the shore.

A dragonfly landed on the end of our fishing poles bringing us luck.

There is no greater place to be than with your loved ones in nature.

With this pandemic on, no visitors are allowed at one of my favourite places of memory.  By now, I would have been making my rounds in my kayak visiting all the special twists and turns in the lake and places where Dad and I used to like fishing.

The night before this exercise, I had a crazy dream with my dad in it. I guess that is why I visualized this memory.

Not being able to see loved ones is the hardest part of this pandemic and this life.

I am thankful for nature and my family, but especially thankful for my dad for installing his love of nature within me.  He provided me with some of the best times of my life.

In my excitement to finish and share this entry, I tipped my page up to photograph it and a pool of water rolled down my page and smeared my ink... grrr.  I should have listened to myself when I said,”You should mop up the puddle with your rag.”  Oh, well. Next time!
